ABOUT TEXAS CHEER & POM
The University of Texas Cheer & Pom is the official cheer and dance squad of the university. Consisting of the Orange Squad (the coed cheer team), the White Squad (the all-girl cheer team), and the Pom Squad (the dance team), all of these squads combine to cheer UT football, basketball, and soccer games. Besides cheering at athletic events, Texas Cheer & Pom also appears at many events and public functions to support our university and local surrounding community.
With over 100+ athletes in the program, Texas Cheer & Pom serves a vital function to the University of Texas at Austin and overall supports many different sports, organizations, and efforts in Austin.
MY ROLE & GOALS WITH TEXAS CHEER & POM
As an Operations Manager within the Orange Squad, one of my main roles was to assist in managing the social media pages across the program. I was responsible for creating posts, whether that would be the graphics, captions, or monthly post schedule. In addition, I was responsible for interacting with many of our followers, including potential cheer recruits, alumni, and parents of current cheerleaders.
My goal with the @utexasspirit branded pages was to simply grow them in terms of following, content interactions, and impressions. As seen below, that is what happened with the page(s)!
Texas Cheer & Pom saw its biggest period of growth ever under our management.
