ABOUT BETA UPSILON CHI
Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX) is a national fraternity of men who believe there's a more meaningful way to enjoy college and fulfill God's purpose for our lives. We exist to equip and empower college Christian men to live faithfully and lead courageously.
Lasting far beyond the college years, BYX (pronounced "bucks"), is a lifelong community that provides spiritual growth, social connections, and selfless leadership through life-changing experiences and a lot of fun. You'll find BYX members involved and making an impact on and outside of campus.
MY ROLE & GOALS WITH BYX (BETA UPSILON CHI)
My role within Texas BYX as the social media manager was to create and establish a social media page that markets and publicizes the fraternity in a respectable manner. When assisting with the overall BYX pages, I help brainstorm content and schedule posts.
The core goal was to use our Instagram to showcase all the great facets our fraternity participates in while simultaneously using the page to try to recruit new members. While growing the page (in terms of following and engagement) was something I focused on, making sure the page was attractive to UT students and potential fraternity brothers was the main target of our page.
The creation of Texas BYX's Instagram helped double the pledge class size and undoubtedly helped market the fraternity.
Since 2021, our pledge class size has increased from 31 (2021) to 42 (2022) to 54 (2023), increasing around 30% year over year.
