ABOUT TEXANS REPORT
The Texans Report was an Instagram account dedicated to covering everything about the Houston Texans NFL franchise. Whether it was posting game analysis, breaking news, free agency and draft updates, or final scores of their games, the Texans Report account was the account to follow for anything Texans-related. Roughly 8,500 Texans fans followed the account at the time of my management.
This account was another page within the Wave Sports + Entertainment farm system. At the time, Wave Sports + Entertainment had an account dedicated to each NFL franchise, and this account obviously represented covering the Texans. Wave Sports + Entertainment is the fourth-largest sports social media network in the world - trailing only the likings of Barstool Sports and others.
MY ROLE & GOALS WITH TEXANS REPORT
I was hired to manage Wave's Texans account and serve as the social media manager over the page. As a lifelong Texans fan, I fit the role well; I had to post about my favorite team every day, giving my opinions, analysis, and thoughts on the state of the team while also posting every move that the Texans made as a franchise. I basically served as an inside reporter for the Texans franchise on behalf of Wave Sports + Entertainment.
My goal was to grow the account into the biggest Texans-related Instagram page on the platform (in terms of following and engagement), which was nearly accomplished. I had many incentives I had to hit every month like growth, impression growth, engagement growth, follower growth, and many more. The Texans fan page market was relatively small and untapped at the time of management, so my goal was to use my prior knowledge and success from Ace Fantasy Football to get this account to the top of the market as quickly as possible.
Texans Report was one of the top Texans fan pages during my time of employment.
