ABOUT THE AUSTIN GAMBLERS
The Austin Gamblers are one of eight teams in the Professional Bull Riding (PBR) league, and they are based out of Austin, Texas. Launching as a franchise in 2022, they finished in 2nd place in 2022 and 2nd place again in 2023, despite being the regular-season champions in both seasons. They have also produced back-to-back MVP seasons from Jose Vitor Leme, the current best bull rider in the world.
The Austin Gamblers are owned by Michael Dell & Egon Durban and host their home event(s) at the newly-opened Moody Center here in Austin. Professional Bull Riding is taking the country by storm and the Gamblers are atop that wave!
MY ROLE & GOALS WITH THE GAMBLERS
I served as the Marketing Intern with the team, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Marketing and the team CEO. My roles spanned across many different areas, including digital media content, email marketing, ticket sales (specifically among college students), brand awareness, and community relations.
My goal with the Gamblers was to increase team/brand awareness around Austin and the surrounding areas through avenues such as in-person marketing events and social media. Another goal of mine was to increase the presence of college students at our home events in their second year. Both were accomplished, and you can see more about that below.
The Austin Gamblers' base and following grew a great amount in 2023 - and that can be attributed to a great marketing strategy.
